Use it as a separate Launcher

I would prefer to have a separate launcher (minimizes to Notification Area).
If it did not have ti integrate into Windows (by replacing the Start Menu), surely it would be simpler (have less complications).
This should be an option (as many would want to replace the Start Menu).
However I like to keep things simpler, and I would be more inclined to try your program, if It had the option to be stand alone (and simpler)
